RFID

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an automatic identification technology, like the barcode. The difference is that RFID is capable of identifying objects from a distance


GS1 and its adherents are now working on a standard for their implementation of RFID. EPCglobal, the forum responsible for Electronic Product Code standards for RFID in the supply chain, is working with users of the technology to develop standards which help companies to use product RFID tags for in-store sales.

Carrefour is currently implementing some pilot schemes designed to identify areas in which RFID can be introduced.


CarrefourNet, the supplier portal of Carrefour group, aims at offering more transparency on the processes and tools used to exchange information between Carrefour and its business partners.
